So, Axis Powers Hetalia completely devoured my soul. I'm not even kidding. Ever since around May, my life has been consumed by Hetalia. And to think, the way I got into it was quite odd. I remember I was searching Google for some Kuroshitsuji Doujinshi, stumbled upon this person on Live Journal, stalked her, and fell in love with her stunning Hetalia fanarts. I don't know what it was that did it for me, the fact that the main character was called "Italy" or the fact that she drew him so cutely that made me go "lolwhut is this". In any case, I was intrigued enough to look it up on Wikipedia. I thought it had great potential, so I watched the first episode, and thought it was brilliant crack. But the five minute, super fast-paced format (especially that of the first episode) confused me, so I decided to delve into the manga version first. Funny how I would end up on LJ again, only to find myself drowning in the enormous fandom that is Hetalia.

I'm known to be quite prone to obsessiveness, and it would be the understatement of the century if I said I wasn't anything but completely obsessed with Hetalia. But I'm not some retarded 13 year old fangirl who is only in it for the moe moe kawaii animu bishis desu ^______^!!! ...no, I actually read all the strips, done all of my research, and had a general, genuine interest in history and culture even before before I got into it (though Hetalia magnified this like woah)...and no, I'm not an elitist fag with a degree in History who is in it only for the srs bsns and unnecessary wank that looks down on everything.

I'm in this fandom simply because I love how multi-faceted, and well, how infinite it is. The subject of Hetalia literally allows for infinite expansion because it is essentially about the world. And that's exactly what I have been witnessing in the months I've spent in it--fans building on the infinite potential.

It's like the ultimate fandom, if you look at it that way.

I love the lulz, I love the cute, and even srs bsns from time to time. I love how it made me even more interested in history and culture than I already was, and even --dare I say it-- more open minded, and I always considered myself an open minded individual. It gave me a new, interesting way to view the world we live in. And it still amazes me to this very day that a simple gag webmanga could have such an effect on me, and on so many others.

So I really don't care how butthurt or desperate for wank or homophobic you are (even though Hetalia is NOT a Shounen-Ai series), nothing you say or do will change my love for Hetalia. Plain and simple, yes?

Wah, this turned out lengthier than I expected, but I guess I wanted to write some sort of an introduction because I'm gonna start posting a lot of Hetalia fanart. *is nervous*
